my faves -- the first 25.

while i'm not going to give a 'happy new year / new years resolution / i'm gonna post more on the blog / [insert some kind of welcome to 2010 post here]' type thing just yet (happy new year, by the way), i'll just do what's on my mind & all the formalities will come later.

since last year, i've been making year-end mixes and this year i'm trying something different. i'm doing like 5 CDs of my favorite songs of '09. i haven't listened to every album that has come out this year. the thing i like about this is that it's my shit, so it's got music i like on it. weezy? check. j*davey? damn right. nicki minaj? yes. jay electronica? you gotdamn right. so, in this series of sorts (because i like a lot of music & don't feel like posting 100+ songs in one sitting, fuckouttaherewiththat), here are 25 songs that will be placed on one of these CDs, but for now are just resting on a long ass playlist.

and that's the first 25 that played randomly on my playlist. it gets more eclectic, from the ting tings to james pants to eLZhi to lee fields and the expressions. this is just the tip of the iceberg. a very big iceberg, i might add.
