i try not to listen to songs that make me sad, because seriously, who really wants to do that on purpose? therefore, trying to find a song that makes me sad was kind of hard to do since i try my best to avoid them like the plague & random germs from strangers & children. but that song right there? i love it and it makes me sad at the same time. i'm not gonna go off on a tangent & talk about how great dilla is & all that (if you don't know who he is just click this word rightchea). this song is off of his album Donuts, and if you've heard this song (or The Roots' very amazing tribute to him off of their Game Theory album Can't Stop This), then you can kinda garner that there's an element of tribute but also mourning in both of these songs. when i hear this song i always think of my grandfather, RIP. those same elements of mourning & tribute are present with me.
